Morocco continues to solidify its position as an influential diplomatic power on the African continent, leveraging its presidency of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council to enhance regional dialogue and establish stability. In this context, Burkinabe Foreign Minister, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, praised Morocco’s pivotal role in supporting African security and cooperation, highlighting the balanced vision adopted by the Kingdom in addressing regional issues.

The Burkinabe minister’s statements were made in a congratulatory message sent to his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, following the informal consultations organized by Morocco’s presidency of the Peace and Security Council on March 18, 2025, with the participation of the countries of the Sahel Alliance: Burkina Faso, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger, and Sudan. These consultations provided an opportunity to discuss the political developments in these countries and ways to address them within the framework of joint African action.

Traoré affirmed that Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, offers a diplomatic model based on the principles of cooperation, solidarity, and sustainable development, thereby strengthening stability in the region. He also noted that Morocco’s presidency of the Council contributes to providing a platform for African countries to discuss their transitional paths, facilitating their reintegration into the African Union.

These efforts reflect Morocco’s commitment to supporting African solutions to African problems, through a comprehensive approach that integrates security with development, further confirming the Kingdom’s position as a reliable partner in promoting stability and integration across the continent.
