According to numerous reports and testimonies, Syria secretly participated in training Polisario members and providing them with technical support. Syrian officers even frequented the Tindouf camps, where they provided logistical and technical assistance, and participated in torture sessions alongside officers from the Algerian regime, as reported by many former prisoners from Tindouf.

They described frequent visits by Syrian officers who took part in training and preparing Polisario members.
