As part of efforts to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Ukraine’s Trade Representative, in the presence of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Rabat, Serhiy Sayenko. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to develop economic relations and explore new areas for investment and industrial cooperation, contributing to business growth and enhancing strategic partnerships between the two countries.

Morocco and Ukraine aim to expand their cooperation in key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, renewable energy, and trade exchange. With its strategic location as a gateway to Africa and Europe, Morocco is an important economic partner, while Ukraine possesses significant industrial and agricultural potential, making it a key player in international markets. Given this, both parties can leverage economic complementarities to serve their mutual interests, whether through boosting investments or facilitating trade flows.

Despite promising opportunities, Moroccan-Ukrainian cooperation faces challenges linked to the global geopolitical context. However, political will and the drive to diversify economic partnerships could serve as strong incentives to strengthen bilateral relations. This meeting reflects both countries’ commitment to developing economic ties, potentially paving the way for new agreements and investment projects that will further enhance their partnership in the coming period.
