US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discusses strengthening the partnership between the US and Morocco with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita

The spokesperson for the US Department of State, Tammy Bruce, issued a statement regarding the phone call between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita.

During this conversation, the two parties discussed ways to strengthen the strong partnership between the United States and Morocco in the fields of regional and international peace and security under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. The discussions focused on developments in Gaza, including the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, the release of hostages, and Morocco’s prominent role in providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

The two ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation to advance shared interests in the region and resolve conflicts while building on the foundations laid by the Abraham Accords. They also emphasized the importance of expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two countries to enhance economic benefits for both the American and Moroccan peoples.

This call is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the United States and Morocco, which share a long history of fruitful cooperation in various fields, ranging from security to economic development.
