Trump Returns to the White House Today… Inaugural Speech: Promises of Strength and Speed
ALDAR/
Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States today, Monday, for his second term. Trump, who ran for office backed by a strong base and provocative slogans, promised to make bold decisions on the first day of his presidency, including issuing about 100 executive orders to implement what he describes as his “exceptional” agenda.
At 78 years old, Trump enters the White House as the oldest president in U.S. history, succeeding Joe Biden, who leaves the political scene amid internal divisions and widespread criticism of his performance both domestically and internationally.
Extraordinary Ceremony Amid Unusual Conditions
The inauguration ceremony will take place under the dome of the Capitol, the same site where Trump supporters stormed in January 2021. In contrast to tradition, the ceremony will be held indoors due to a severe cold wave sweeping the country. Despite sharp political disagreements, outgoing President Joe Biden participated in the peaceful transfer of power, which some have described as “relatively smooth,” unlike what happened four years ago.
Notably, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng attended, alongside prominent figures from the world of politics and economics, including former presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Barack Obama. Security measures were intensified due to two assassination attempts against Trump last summer, with 25,000 police officers deployed and barricades set up along 48 kilometers in the capital.
In his first speech after taking the oath of office, Trump promised swift action to address what he described as the “decline of the nation,” vowing to work on immigration issues, the economy, and national security. One of his most prominent announcements was the creation of an “Iron Dome” to protect the country from any missile threats, an initiative he intends to implement immediately by directing the military.
During a massive rally held the night before the inauguration, Trump escalated his rhetoric against illegal immigration, repeatedly describing it as an “invasion,” and promised to stop the flow of migrants across the border. He told his supporters, “We will stop the invasion at our borders,” emphasizing that his new agenda is aimed at rebuilding the nation and strengthening its position on the international stage.
As he begins his new term, Trump brings an ambitious agenda and promising slogans to a country marked by division and polarization. However, achieving these ambitions will depend on his ability to unite the nation and convince the American people that he can lead the country to a better future.
