Ambassador : Morocco-Portugal HLM to Inaugurate New Phase in Relations
The Morocco-Portugal High-Level Meeting, to be held Friday in Lisbon, will inaugurate a new phase in relations between the two countries and will give a strong impetus to bilateral cooperation, said the Moroccan Ambassador to Portugal, Othmane Bahnini.
This meeting, placed under the theme “Morocco and Portugal: an exemplary strategic partnership”, will be an opportunity to deepen the partnership and express the willingness of both countries to raise relations to higher levels, through the launch of several structuring projects in several areas, he said in an interview with MAP.
Morocco attaches the highest importance to this partnership, which reflects the excellent and exemplary relations between the two countries and embodies the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to place Portugal among the top ten economic and trade partners, he said, stressing the Kingdom’s firm commitment to raise its relations with Portugal to the highest level, to set them up as a strategic relationship of reference.
“Morocco and Portugal have enormous assets and potential that should be exploited, especially in the automotive sector, renewable energy and textiles, which is experiencing a huge boom in this country, especially in research and innovation, “in a mutually beneficial way for both countries, said Bahnini.
In the opinion of the diplomat, “it is necessary to make the most of our common potentials and aspects of mutual economic integration in the coming years, and take advantage of growth opportunities in the region, so that together we become regional economic champions.
In the same context, Bahnini stressed the dynamism of economic exchanges between Portugal and Morocco, noting that the two countries are called to “benefit from their economic complementarity.”
