The Syrian Arab Republic officially resumes operations at its embassy in Rabat

On this occasion, the Syrian top diplomat emphasized the highly symbolic significance of the Syrian embassy in Rabat, considering that it reflects the new Syria’s willingness to open a promising page in its relations with Morocco and to bolster bilateral cooperation based on trust, solidarity, and mutual respect.

The Syrian official reaffirmed his country’s ambition to strengthen ties with Morocco in several fields, within the framework of a partnership based on dialogue and coordination, aimed at ensuring development for the benefit of both brotherly peoples.

Asaad Hassan Al-Shaiban also commended Morocco’s honorable and steadfast stances towards the Syrian people, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, as well as its unwavering support for this people in their legitimate aspiration for freedom, dignity, and prosperity.

For his part, Bourita expressed satisfaction with the Syrian embassy’s reopening describing this initiative as a highly significant measure in the process of reviving bilateral relations between the two sister countries, which follows Morocco’s reopening of its embassy in Damascus, upon High Royal Instructions, in June 2025.

He stressed that this event reflects the shared willingness of Morocco and Syria to consolidate strong and lasting relations, rooted in historical fraternal ties.

Bourita also recalled the constant, clear, and firm stances of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in favor of the brotherly Syrian people, reaffirming the Kingdom’s attachment to the unity, sovereignty, and stability of Syria.

He further expressed Morocco’s willingness to accompany Syria during this delicate transitional phase, with support based on solidarity, dialogue, and cooperation, in order to contribute to achieving the Syrian people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
