The 8th session of the Morocco–Russia Intergovernmental Joint Commission is an ideal opportunity to harness all potentials in order to raise cooperation to broader horizons, said Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita on Friday in Moscow.

Speaking at this session, co-chaired with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, MFA Bourita stressed that this meeting will be fruitful, and will yield concrete results that measure up to the ambitions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s and H.E President Vladimir Putin. He noted that high hopes are pinned on this session with a view to advancing joint cooperation to broader horizons.
Morocco-Russia relations provide opportunities of cooperation in various areas, including trade, investment, technical cooperation, tourism, energy and education, Morocco’s Foreign Minister stressed.
On this occasion, he recalled that the relations between both countries have witnessed notable development since His Majesty the King’s historic visit to Moscow in 2016, which has culminated in very positive results.
He also affirmed that this meeting takes place in a significant bilateral context, overlapping with the 10th anniversary of the Deepened Strategic Partnership signed between both countries, as approved by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which illustrates personal ties grounded in mutual esteem and respect between both Heads of State.
This session is also being held within the framework of strong bilateral relations uniting two reliable partners, trusting and relying on one another in numerous issues, he concluded.
