The platform “Huanqiu.com,” part of China’s central media, published a video documenting the speech delivered in 1960 at the United Nations by the late Hassan II, then Crown Prince of Morocco, in which he firmly defended China’s legitimate right to reclaim its seat at the UN amid severe diplomatic isolation.

Notably, the map shown in the video depicted Morocco in its entirety, including the Sahara, sending a clear political signal of Beijing’s respect for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, in recognition of Rabat’s historic stance.

This initiative, highlighted by researcher Dr. Hanan Ettahamik, confirms that political messages are closely read and understood within the corridors of the Chinese Communist Party. Conversely, the statement by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune claiming that his country supported China at the UN is more an example of diplomatic fiction.
