In a touching humanitarian scene, areas within the Gaza Strip — most notably the Jabalia refugee camp — witnessed Palestinian residents raising the flag of the Kingdom of Morocco as a sign of gratitude and appreciation for Morocco’s role, following the arrival of aid shipments through a humanitarian air bridge organized by Morocco.

Photos and videos circulating online show an atmosphere of genuine popular solidarity, with the Moroccan flag being raised amid chants praising the Kingdom and its people.

Morocco, under the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, launched a large-scale humanitarian operation that includes sending about 180 tons of food supplies, milk for children, medicines, and medical equipment. The initial shipments totaled around 37 tons departing from the Kenitra Air Base, followed by additional consignments amounting to 60 tons aboard four military aircraft that arrived directly at the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza.

Before that, a third shipment of food and medical supplies had already arrived, forming the second stage of the air bridge. Sources confirm that this operation is being carried out under royal directives aimed at providing urgent assistance to the residents of the besieged Strip amid a worsening humanitarian crisis.

Official Palestinian statements have amplified the significance of the initiative. Ahmad Majdalani, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, affirmed that the initiative reflects “hearts of unending gratitude” toward the Moroccan people and their King, while Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, Director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, described this support as “a noble humanitarian act that alleviates the great suffering of the people of Gaza.”

These steps come as Gaza is going through the worst phase of its humanitarian situation, with hunger-related deaths rising to around 175 people, including 93 children, according to statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health. While the world wakes up to horrifying images of the oppressed scrambling around airdrops from planes, the Moroccans stand out with direct and effective support to break the siege and deliver food and medicine to civilians longing for humanity.

Through this initiative, the Kingdom of Morocco affirms that solidarity with the Palestinian cause is not a slogan, but a deeply rooted royal, official, and popular stance that reflects the spirit of Arab and Islamic brotherhood. Organizational structures, including the “Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif” Agency, have contributed to ensuring that aid reaches its intended recipients swiftly and through an approved route without delay.

The raising of the Moroccan flag in Gaza remains a powerful symbol of appreciation that grows with every plane carrying humanitarian supplies. Today, Morocco’s stance embodies the depth of historical ties between the two peoples, as well as the King’s humanity and the boundless popular devotion.
