Morocco Welcomes this Summer Indiana Jones 5 Film Crew (CCM)

Morocco will welcome this summer the film crew in charge of the fifth episode of the famous and emblematic archaeologist Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has announced.

Steven Spielberg, who had directed the previous chapters, will hand over the reins to James Mangold, CCM said in a press release, adding that Spielberg will remain a producer along with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.

Harrison Ford stars alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), CCM said, noting that filming began in London on June 7 and will continue in Fez and Oujda this summer.

Indiana Jones 5 will join the list of major international productions filmed in Morocco such as James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, Game of Thrones and Homeland.

“Morocco’s success and its attractiveness as a large filming space are the result, on the one hand, of the multiple sets offered by our country, its exceptional light, the experience and skills of its technical teams, and, on the other hand, of the measures taken since 2017 by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center as well as the advantages granted to foreign producers,” CCM underlined.

Moroccan producer Zakaria Alaoui and his company Zak Productions will be in charge of filming in Morocco, the source said.
