As part of efforts to strengthen military cooperation between Morocco and the United Kingdom, a bilateral diving exercise was recently conducted between the diving team of the Royal Moroccan Navy Diving School and their British counterparts. The exercise involved a team from the British forces who arrived in Morocco aboard the Royal Navy’s diving support vessel, Vahana.

The aim of the exercise was to exchange expertise and techniques between Moroccan and British divers while enhancing operational coordination in maritime environments. The training program focused on a range of advanced tasks, including deep-sea diving operations, underwater rescue, and the maintenance of precision marine equipment.

These drills reflect the strong ties between the two countries, which have significantly evolved in recent years, particularly in the military and security sectors. This partnership underscores the shared interest of both nations in strengthening their joint defense capabilities and addressing growing security challenges in seas and oceans.

A Royal Moroccan Navy official highlighted that such exercises enhance the readiness of national naval forces and provide them with exposure to the latest international techniques and practices. The British side also emphasized the importance of these maneuvers in fostering cooperation between the naval forces of both nations and strengthening the strategic bonds that unite them.

It is worth noting that Vahana is one of the advanced vessels employed by the British Navy in diving and underwater search operations. The vessel is equipped with cutting-edge technological systems that contribute to the success of complex missions in maritime environments.

These exercises represent another step toward cementing the Moroccan-British partnership in naval defense, reflecting a shared vision of achieving security and stability in vital maritime areas, both regionally and internationally.
