Azoulay : Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue Reaffirms HM the King’s Pioneering Commitment to Tolerance Values
The conference marks the “pioneering, proactive, determined and visionary” commitment of HM the King, “who has made our society a space that embodies the art of listening, a space where all narratives can be expressed,” Azoulay told MAP on the sidelines of the opening of the parliamentary conference on interfaith dialogue, being held on June 13-15 in Marrakech.
“This conference, which has made Morocco the crossroads for all parliaments, now represented at the highest level and from every continent, once again confirms the place the Kingdom occupies in the community of nations,” he said.
Advisor to HM the King added that the Kingdom has become the “flagship of the art of living together,” calling for mutual respect and mutual listening to move forward together.
Organized in partnership with “Religions for Peace” and with the support of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the Mohammedia Rabita of the Ulema, this conference will bring together MPs, religious leaders and representatives of civil society, who will engage in constructive dialogue and exchange best practices for resolving the main problems hampering sustainable coexistence.
This international conference, initiated under the theme “Interfaith dialogue: working together for our common future”, reflects the important and multiple roles played by the national legislative institution, which draws its inspiration from the Kingdom’s thousand-year-old history, rich in landmark episodes and strong examples of religious tolerance and coexistence.
