Walid Regragui is embarking on a new professional chapter away from the touchline, after French broadcaster Canal+ officially announced his addition to its team of sports consultants, where he will work as a football analyst on the network’s sports programmes.
The announcement was made during a conference hosted by the network to unveil details of its new television season, held on the “Michel Platini” platform at Canal+’s headquarters.
Canal+ viewers are expected to benefit from Regragui’s expertise in reading matches and analysing their technical aspects, as he joins the network’s studios to cover European competitions, as well as Premier League fixtures.
The move from the pitch to sports broadcasting comes after a distinguished coaching and sporting career for the 50-year-old Regragui. One of the defining chapters of his career was his tenure as head coach of the Moroccan national team from 2022 to 2026, during which he played a key role in the team’s historic achievement at the Qatar World Cup. That campaign significantly raised the global profile of Moroccan football and placed the Atlas Lions at the forefront of the international football scene.
