The Kingdom of Morocco has been brilliantly elected to the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the 2025–2029 term, obtaining 146 votes, and ranking first among the Arab Group.

Morocco was followed by Jordan (131 votes) and Egypt (114 votes), while Algeria and Sudan were eliminated from the ballot.
This election reflects the international community’s recognition of the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in promoting multilateralism, dialogue among civilizations, and sustainable human development.
It also reaffirms Morocco’s active and constructive role within UNESCO, as well as its steadfast commitment to advancing education, culture, science, and communication—essential pillars of peace and progress.
Within the framework of this new mandate, the Kingdom of Morocco will continue to work towards strengthening international cooperation and upholding the universal values of tolerance, mutual respect, and solidarity that underpin UNESCO’s mission.
