The So-Called Solidarity Caravan: The Mutilated Map of Morocco Unmasks a Conspiracy in the Name of Palestine

ALDAR / Analysis
In a provocative and deeply upsetting incident, a so-called Algerian-Tunisian “solidarity” caravan heading to Gaza displayed distorted maps of Morocco, deliberately omitting its Sahara. This blatant violation of Morocco’s national sovereignty represents a shameful exploitation of a just humanitarian cause.
What was supposed to be an initiative to support the besieged Palestinian people suddenly turned into a hostile platform, using Palestinian suffering to attack Morocco’s territorial integrity and promote separatist agendas that serve the fantasies of the Polisario and its backers in Algeria.
For Morocco, the Palestinian cause has never been a passing issue or a political bargaining chip. It is a constant pillar of its foreign policy, firmly upheld by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, who has elevated it to the rank of a national cause. The Moroccan people and leadership have never hesitated to offer humanitarian, symbolic, and political support to the Palestinians, out of a firm belief in the justice of their cause and the sanctity of Jerusalem.
But when so-called “solidarity” initiatives are hijacked to undermine Moroccan territorial unity, true intentions are revealed, and masks fall. The caravan, which claimed to help Gaza, deliberately and conspicuously excluded the Moroccan flag from its banners and raised falsified maps of Morocco — a clear sign that its real aim was not to support Gaza, but to settle political scores with Morocco at the expense of Palestinian dignity.
The shock deepened when it emerged that some participants in the caravan may in fact be hired agents working for a regime well-known for its hostility toward Morocco — a regime that never misses a chance to promote separatist illusions, even at the cost of Palestinian children’s blood.
How can those who claim to defend the Palestinian people violate the sovereignty of a fellow Arab nation? And how can any human conscience remain silent in the face of such politically driven manipulation?
Algeria, the official sponsor of this move, has once again demonstrated that it sees the Palestinian cause only as a card for maneuvering and blackmail. It does not hesitate to exploit Gaza’s suffering whenever the opportunity arises, merely to undermine Morocco’s unity and promote separatist narratives.
Such behavior not only offends Morocco but also insults the Palestinian people themselves — the very people who should be at the heart of every sincere act of solidarity, not sidelined in sick geopolitical schemes.
What happened can only be described as a blatant betrayal of the spirit of Maghreb and Arab solidarity, and a disgraceful abuse of a just cause for sinister ends. The infiltration of the caravan by individuals driven by hostile motives leaves no doubt that this so-called “solidarity initiative” is nothing more than a disguised conspiracy, targeting Moroccan sovereignty more than it aims to support Palestine.
Exploiting a sacred cause like Palestine’s must be condemned in the strongest terms — especially when it is manipulated by a regime that has lost all moral direction and insists on using people’s suffering as leverage in its futile conflicts.
The caravan that carried a mutilated map of Morocco had no humanitarian intention. It carried intentions of conspiracy and slander, proving that those behind it care neither for Gaza nor for the resilience of its people, but only for stirring new centers of hostility and political hypocrisy.
Morocco, which has always been a sincere supporter of the Palestinian people, will not be shaken by cheap distractions or blatant betrayals disguised as solidarity. Palestine will remain a national cause for Moroccans — no matter the opportunists — and the Sahara will remain Moroccan, regardless of falsified maps and excluded flags.
