The city of Dakhla, one of the most prominent urban centers in Morocco’s southern provinces, has witnessed the official launch of construction works for the Grand Stadium—a new step that reflects the region’s rapidly accelerating development dynamic and Morocco’s growing interest in strengthening sports infrastructure in the Saharan provinces.

This ambitious project is being built on an area of approximately 50 hectares and is expected to have a seating capacity of 15,000 spectators, including 5,000 covered seats. This will make it one of the most significant upcoming sports facilities in southern Morocco.

The stadium is not merely a sports facility—it is a developmental and territorial lever that will strengthen Dakhla’s position as both a sports and tourism destination. It is also expected to encourage youth participation in sports and serve as a future venue for national and continental events.

This project falls within a comprehensive national vision aimed at upgrading infrastructure across the Kingdom, especially in Morocco’s Sahara, reaffirming a strong commitment to making these regions a model for development, investment, and stability.

With the launch of construction works, all eyes are now on this promising sports landmark, as Dakhla aspires to turn it into a symbol of its ambition to advance both in sports and in development.
