In a significant strategic move that reflects the depth of defense relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, a major industrial project has been announced in the “Midparc” industrial zone in Nouaceur, near Casablanca. This project will focus on the manufacturing and assembly of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet airframes—one of the world’s most prominent multirole combat aircraft.

This achievement marks a major leap in the history of Morocco’s defense industry, positioning the Kingdom among nations capable of producing advanced military aviation technologies. It also underscores the confidence of major U.S. defense companies—chief among them Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the F-16—in Morocco’s industrial and technological capabilities.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of national industrial and technological capacities, particularly through the transfer of expertise and skills in aviation engineering and aircraft maintenance. The new facility will produce and assemble key components of the F-16, especially the advanced F-16V Viper variant, which is equipped with cutting-edge weapons systems and radar technologies.

Through this initiative, Morocco takes a significant step toward strengthening its role in the military aviation sector, opening new prospects for national economic growth and the expansion of its aerospace industry in the years ahead.
