The Republic of Kazakhstan Reaffirms Its Support for the Moroccanity of the Sahara and the Kingdom’s Territorial Integrity

The Republic of Kazakhstan has reaffirmed its support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco and its territorial integrity during a high-level meeting between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, in Rabat. The meeting resulted in the signing of a joint statement reflecting the strength of relations between the two countries and the convergence of their positions on several issues of common interest.
Through this statement, Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative as a serious and credible solution to end the regional conflict over the Sahara, stressing the need for a political settlement through negotiations. It also expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the United Nations Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to advance the political process in accordance with the criteria set out in relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
This position aligns with Morocco’s active diplomatic efforts to strengthen international recognition of the Autonomy Initiative, which enjoys growing support at both regional and international levels. The joint statement also reflects the two countries’ willingness to develop their bilateral cooperation and enhance their partnership in various fields, serving their common interests.
