Morocco Angola in Favor of Establishing Ambitious and Fruitful Cooperation
In a joint statement issued at the end of the 3rd session of the Moroccan-Angolan Joint Cooperation Commission, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, Téte Antonio, the two parties underlined their interest in establishing ambitious and fruitful cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, tourism, mining and energy, education and vocational training, infrastructure, logistics, health and pharmaceuticals.
In this regard, they called on the sectoral ministers of the two countries to jointly identify actions and projects to be undertaken in key sectors of common interest, while encouraging the business communities to carry out prospecting missions to fully explore the opportunities offered by the two countries.
The two ministers also expressed their satisfaction with the progress made in the various areas of cooperation since the last session of the Joint Cooperation Commission held in 2013, and in the implementation of the Cooperation Roadmap presented by the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Angola for the period 2021-2024.
Both parties also welcomed the positive development of relations between the two brotherly countries in recent years, reinforced by the two historic meetings between the two Heads of State, HM King Mohammed VI and HEM. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, respectively in Abidjan in November 2017 on the sidelines of the 5th AU-EU Summit, and in Brazzaville in May 2018 on the sidelines of the 1st Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Climate Commission.
They also expressed their willingness to support each other’s bids.
The two ministers also stressed that the 4th session of the Moroccan-Angolan Joint Cooperation Commission would be held in Angola on a date to be decided by mutual diplomatic agreement, concluded the joint statement.
