Moroccan People Celebrate HRH Prince Moulay Rachid’s 53rd Birthday on Tuesday
Born in Rabat on June 20, 1970, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid graduated with honors in May 1993 from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Rabat with a degree in Public Law (specializing in Internal Administration) and a diploma in Comparative Law. Three years later, in June 1996, His Royal Highness obtained the second certificate of higher studies (International Relations option), with honors.
His Royal Highness publicly defended, on May 18, 2001 at the Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University, a doctoral thesis in Law on “The Organization of the Islamic Conference: Study of a specific international organization”, obtained with the distinction “Very Honorable with the congratulations of the jury and special mention for its publication”, in view of the interest of the subject and the quality of the work.
From an early age, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been involved in cultural, social and sporting activities. Since 1997, His Royal Highness has presided over the destiny of the National Federation of Moroccan Scouting, to which he has injected a new dynamic.
In the same spirit and with the same commitment, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid assumes the presidency of the Royal Moroccan Hunting Arms Shooting Federation, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association. Since January 2018, His Royal Highness has also been President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.
Also, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been involved in a wide range of activities, taking part in various Royal events and chairing official activities and major events both in Morocco and abroad.
His Royal Highness also represents HM the King at major national and international events.
On September 19, 2022, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, held at Westminster Abbey in London. His Royal Highness had taken part the previous day at Buckingham Palace in London, in a reception hosted by HM King Charles III for VIPs attending the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
On September 25, 2022, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over HM king Mohammed VI Grand Prix for the 3* show jumping competition at the Royal Cavalry School in Temara.
On November 07, His Royal Highness represented His Majesty the King at the proceedings of the Heads of State and Government segment of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), which took place in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.
On the evening of the same day, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid took part in a reception hosted by Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi in honor of the Heads of State and delegations attending COP27.
During the same month, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, Chairman of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, chaired a dinner in Marrakech hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to mark the official opening of the 19th edition of the Festival.
On February 10, His Royal Highness, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, presided over a gala dinner in Rabat hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 47th Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 26th Lalla Meryem Cup.
The following day, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the 47th edition of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 26th edition of the Lalla Meryem Golf Cup at the Dar Es-Salam Royal Golf Club in Rabat.
On May 04, at Mechouar Stinia “Sahrij Souani” in Meknes, His Royal Highness chaired a dinner offered by HM King Mohammed VI in honor of the guests and participants at the 15th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco.
On the 19th of the same month, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid represented His Majesty the King at the 32nd session of the Arab Summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid’s birthday is thus an opportunity for the Moroccan people to affirm their unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne and their permanent mobilization behind His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the success of the great development projects launched by the Sovereign for the prosperity of His loyal people.
