Guinea Reiterates Firm Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity Autonomy Plan for Sahara
The Republic of Guinea reiterated, Tuesday in Rabat, its firm and constant support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its support for the autonomy plan initiative, presented by the Kingdom, which is the only credible and realistic solution to resolve this dispute.
This position was expressed in the joint statement issued after the talks held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Guineans Living Abroad, Morissanda Kouyate, as part of strengthening relations of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries.
Kouyaté also welcomed the efforts of the United Nations as an exclusive and consensual framework to achieve a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the Sahara regional dispute.
He also stressed that the opening by the Republic of Guinea of a Consulate General in Dakhla, in January 2020, is in line with the historical position of the Republic of Guinea, said the joint statement.
