The Republic of Malawi reaffirmed on Wednesday in Rabat its unwavering position and firm support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, and welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of Resolution 2797, which consolidates the Moroccan autonomy plan as the sole basis for achieving a political solution to the fabricated dispute over the Sahara.

This position was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi, Dr. George Chaponda, during his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita.
During these talks, the head of Malawian diplomacy, who is on his first working visit Morocco, hailed Resolution 2797, adopted on 31 October by the UN Security Council, which consolidates, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom as the only serious, credible, and lasting basis for reaching a political solution to the fabricated dispute over the Sahara.
