Corruption in Tindouf Camps: Polisario Leadership’s Continued Embezzlement Amid International Silence

ALDAR/
Scandals continue to expose the true face of the Polisario leadership. While detainees in the Tindouf camps suffer from dire humanitarian conditions, the group’s leaders are systematically embezzling international aid, amid a suspicious silence from the United Nations and human rights organizations.
The latest scandal involves the disappearance of medical equipment worth thousands of euros, which was supposed to help improve living conditions in the camps. Instead, it ended up in private clinics in Algeria, in yet another recurring scenario that reflects the extent of corruption within the group.
Available information indicates the involvement of Abdin Bachraya, Polisario’s representative in Catalonia, and his brother Hammoudi Beyoun, who serves as the “Prime Minister,” in this crime—adding to a long list of violations.
Despite previous condemnations from the European Union and human rights organizations, this systematic looting of humanitarian aid continues without any accountability, raising questions about the complicity of international parties in these serious violations.
