Professional Chambers: Registration on Electoral Roll from 10 to 30 May 2021

“As part of the preliminary measures taken for the holding of the next elections of members of professional chambers, the minister of the Interior informs professionals working in the sectors under the chambers of agriculture, trade, industry and services, chambers of handicrafts or chambers of fisheries, that a decree on the organization of an exceptional revision of the electoral rolls of the professional chambers was published Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the Official Gazette,” said the statement.

In accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned decree, the deadline for submitting new applications for registration and transfer of registration on the electoral lists of the professional chambers is 21 days, from May 10 to 30, 2021.

During this period, “the professionals not registered on the current lists, having met the legal requirements and aged at least 18 years on the date of closure of the electoral lists, should submit their applications for registration on the electoral list of the Chamber to which they belong and submit the registration files to the offices of the local administrative authority to which their professional activity belongs,” said the same source.

The minister of the Interior recalled that the professionals registered in the current electoral lists of the professional chambers, who wish to transfer their registration from the electoral list of one professional category or electoral body to the list of another category or body or from one constituency or electoral chamber to another constituency or electoral chamber, must submit during the same period (from May 10 to May 30) their applications for transfer of registration to the aforementioned offices. The administrative commissions and assistant administrative commissions will meet from May 31 to June 2, 2021, to examine new applications for registration and transfer of registration and make the necessary corrections and legal deletions.

In order for professionals to consult the results of the work of the aforementioned commissions, the statement added, the said decree provides for the deposit of the corrective tables made by the administrative commissions, accompanied by the electoral lists stopped on March 31, 2021, at the disposal of the public during a period of 7 days, that is to say from June 6 to 12, 2021, at the offices of the local administrative authority and at the headquarters of the professional chambers.

During this period, any professional whose application for registration or transfer of registration has been rejected or whose name has been removed from the electoral roll of the chamber in which he or she is registered may, if necessary, lodge an appeal against the decision of the administrative commission with the competent court, which must rule on the appeal within 10 days from the date of its filing.

The final electoral lists of the professional chambers will be decided on June 24, 2021, concluded the statement.
