Comoros Reiterates Unwavering Support for Moroccan Sovereignty Over Sahara
“We renew our unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and continue to support the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the only serious and pragmatic solution to this regional dispute”, the Comorian minister told the press following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the High-Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries.
On this occasion, Dhoulkamal recalled that the Comoros was the first country to open a consulate in Laayoune, stressing that “when we visit the region and look at the level of development achieved under the impetus of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, we can only encourage and continue to call on the world to support this pragmatic vision, which consists in putting in place this solution which is the only way to promote peace and stability in the region”.
He also praised the strong and fruitful relations between the two countries, noting that his country will continue to work with Morocco to further promote their partnership.
In this respect, the head of Comorian diplomacy recalled the various agreements signed in the fields of education, new technologies and energy, praising Morocco for having been one of the major promoters and sponsors of the “Emerging Comoros” plan.
