Tetouan: arrest of two individuals suspected of inciting irregular migration by publishing erroneous information

The elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Tetouan, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, arrested two individuals aged 20 on Sunday for their alleged involvement in incitement to irregular migration by disseminating false information and digital content through computer systems.

According to a security source, the cyber surveillance services of the National Security had detected digital content published on social media pages, claiming the easing of border control measures and encouraging users of social media sites and applications to engage in irregular migration.

Technical research and on-site investigations led to the identification and arrest of the two suspects at the entrance of the city of Tetouan, the same source stated.

The two individuals in question were taken into custody for the needs of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to clarify the true motives behind the commission of these criminal acts, while searches and investigations continue for the arrest of other individuals involved in the creation and dissemination of these contents and false information.
